Kent Senior Trophy semi-final
Greenwich Borough 3-2 Herne Bay

Rob and Dan
Rob is congratulated by Dan after he scored Bay's opener

Well the run had to come to an end eventually. It was the way it came about which made it so disappointing. Having Greenwich on the ropes after the first 45 minutes and deservedly 2-0 in the lead, Bay gave the game away  in the second period by stopping playing football.  Greenwich to their credit never gave up and in fact raised their game and took full
advantage of Bay’s change of play. It was obvious if Borough scored they would fight even harder to get the equalizer. This they did in the 75th minute.

Steve Firkins, Greenwich manager, replies

In reply to my email on behalf of the club congratulating Greenwich on their victory and wishing them well in the final, Steve Firkins, manager and secretary of their side sent this message...."Thanks for that we all appreciate it, good luck in the other semis against Faversham and in the league as well. What ever happens your lads have had a terrific season its good to see youngsters at this level given a chance.Regards Steve Firkins"

The Secretary has his two penn'orth

What a fantastic season Bay have had this time around. No one would have forseen the level of skill and teamwork we have witnessed on so many occasions so far and it has been a true pleasure to have been associated with it. No matter what happens from now on this year I for one am proud of our teams performances and that goes as much for the ressies as for the first team. Further success would only be cake decoration for me (albeit very welcome cake decoration) and I thank all our players and management for a splendid effort. Well done.
