Margate 1 - 2 Herne Bay
Bay went to unbeaten Margate this morning and came away with all three points. But it took a lot of hard work to do so. they got off to a quick start getting straight into Margate and created a couple of openings but were unable to capitalise on them.
Margate weren't going to let Bay have it all their own way and first teamer Joe Taylor caused the Bay defence some nervous moments. It was Bay, however, that broke the deadlock with five minutes of the first half left. Danny Williams picked up the ball in his own half and just ran directly towards goal before he unselfishly passed to Joe Nelder to score.
The second half got under away and within five minutes Bay had doubled their lead. Joe Evans played Danny Williams through to score. But then came the sting in tail for Bay. First Robert Joyce received his second yellow for disagreeing with a decision, and within 30 seconds Bay had Joe Nelder sent off, again for disagreeing with the referee.
With 35 minutes left and with only 9 men, Bay reorganised their line leaving only 1 player up and that player was Shaun Smith. He had 3 chances to score, but didn't. Bay really defended like lions and it was not until the last 5 minutes that Margate got their goal. Bay saw out the rest of the 90 minutes without conceding again. Well done all the Boys left on the pitch.

Herne Bay 4 - 3 Ashford Town
Bay went into tonights match in good spirit after their game at the weekend.
They had players back after their rest on sunday, and how we needed everyone to play well as Ashford hadn't been beaten this season.
The first twenty minutes were out of this world with both teams playing lovely football but neither able to get a shot on target. The break-through came when Ashford broke quickly and ex-Newcastle United trialist Robbie Richardson let fly from 25 yards to beat Shaun Smith.
From that moment a determined Bay side totally took the game from Ashford. First Joe Nelder equalised after a fantastic through ball from Carlisle Bleau, the second followed shortly after when Kombo Tuniouwani got on the end of a Jac Scott corner. The third came from Jac Scott himself when he cut inside from the left, his shot bounced just in front of the Ashford Goalkeeper who couldn't keep it out, what a wonderful ten minutes of football.
But within five minutes Ashford had pulled it back to 3-2 when they were awarded a penalty which Shaun was very unlucky not to save.
The second half Ashford were all over the Bay for long periods but with the defence standing tall they were not letting Ashford through especially Sam Kettle who was very good at centre-half and with the two centre midfielders Joe Evans & Robert Joyce working extremely hard.
Ashford did get the equaliser with 15 minutes to go, but Bay were not going to be out done tonight. Chevan Xavier broke down the right beat three men and passed to Micheal Tritton to slot home for the win.
Man of the Match was Danny Williams or Sam Kettle both were excellent on the day.

Borden Village 1 - 2 Herne Bay
Bay started today's game trying to rest some players for the Cup game on Tuesday, but it didn't go to plan.
Playing on a small village pitch Bay couldn't get their passing in game going at all. With no width Bay struggled to break quickly and Borden were always a threat.
With Christian Marsh trying to pull the strings in midfield, Bay did make a few chances. Danny Williams went close and Jac Scott's free-kick hit the cross bar.
The second-half saw much of the same when Sam Kettle went close but the keeper saved.
Then Borden broke down the right and with a cross/shot managed to find their winger to stab home.
Bay quickly changed personel and formation to a 3-5-2 which seemed to work. With Bay making all the running, Matt Harris managed to win the ball as the defender tried to shepherd it out for a goal kick. His cross into the box managed to find its way into the net.
Bay were unlucky not to go 2-1 when Harris calmly slotted the ball home with his left only for it to have been ajudged that someone was off-side???????
Bay continued to press and with five minutes to go Robert Joyce got on to a ball in the box and hammered home Bay's winner.
Bay showed gutts and determination to get this victory.......

Whitstable Town 2-2 Herne Bay
Bay went to the Belmont to play Whitstable, the points were shared.
Bay played the same as last week and totally destroyed their rivals but chance after chance went begging.
Bay did get the break-through after excellent build-up play through the midfield ending with Danny Williams crossing for Joe Nelder to score. Bay continued to dominate and were unlucky to go in only 1-0 up.
The second half saw much of the same. Bay continued to dominate, Jac Scott crossed for Danny Williams to head over, Danny went past three or four defenders only to see his shot saved. Bay did go two up when Joe Evans scored from the penalty spot. But then came the sting in the tail, Whitstable scored two late goals to bring the scores level.
The postives that came from the game was that Bay created so many chances and totally dominated the game,,,

Herne Bay 5 - 1 Hollands and Blair
The two sides met for the second time this season. Bay again got of to a very quick start with Robert Joyce scoring direct from a free-kick within 5 minutes.
Bay totally dominated the game from that moment and never looked back, playing dazzling football at times which totally destroyed Hollands & Blair.
The second goal came from a lovely build up down the right starting with the Bay keeper rolling the ball out to Antony Searle, he passed in to Joe Evans who flicked it down the right for Jac Scott to cross for Kombo Tuniouwani to score. What a goal!
The third came shortly after when Kombo let fly a scrocher from 22 yards out which curled away from keeper and into the top corner. Bay could have scored more but it was nice to see the passing and the whole team creating so many chances.
The second half saw much of the same. Within 5 minutes of the restart Bay increased their lead to 4-0 when Robert Joyce got on the end of another Jac Scott cross.
Unfortunately, Michael Tritton was sent off for a studs up challenge, but this didn't alter the way Bay went about their football and they still dominated procession. Joe Evans, returning from his ban, got a well deserved goal when he got onto a cross from Jac Scott.
Hollands & Blair got their consolation goal with 5 minutes to go, this was unlucky as the Bay defence and keeper Dan Hadlow didn't deserve to concede.
After the game, delighted manager Glenn Harris said "This was the best that I have seen Bay youngsters play this season...".

Herne Bay 2 - 2 Tonbridge Angels
Report by Glenn Harris
Bay were without a few key players who were unavailable to play. They went into this game giving several youngsters their debut starts. Angels played some very nice football and were unlucky not to take the lead earlier than they did. Luke Potter blocked a shot that was goal ward bound and then Sam Kettle made a last ditched tackle to thwart another chance.
It was not long afterwards, however, when the Angels centre forward found space in the box to slot home. As a result Bay, who had started the match in 3-5-2 system, quickly changed to a more familiar 4-4-2 and the improvement was immediate to see. Michael Tritton broke down the left and cut in but was brought down outside the area. Robert Joyce stepped up and curled the resulting free kick over the wall and into the net.
Bay started to dominate the possession and control the pace of the game but were unable to unlock the Angels defence. Angels were gifted their second when a rush of blood from a Bay defender saw him pass the ball to an Angels forward in the box to easily slot home.
The second half saw the home side totally destroy the Angels. Bay were much more positive and harder into the tackle and first to the ball. In attack, first Joe Nelder went close and then Joe Evans and then Robert Joyce. All three put the ball over the stand behind the goal (I did get all the balls back).
Bay got their deserved equaliser when Tom Willett found Joe Nelder with a lovely through ball for him to lob over the out-coming Goalkeeper.
Bay were unlucky not to find the winner but this was a very good work-out for the Boys.

Report by Glenn Harris
Herne Bay under 18's first friendly of the season ended in a good win for the Bay. Carrying on from last seasons success, Bay got off to a very good start when Joe Evans played new signing Danny Williams in to score with a well taken chip over the advancing keeper in the first five minutes.
Within ten minutes Bay had doubled their lead when Michael Tritton crossed for Joe Nelder to slot home calmly.
The third goal came quickly after when Robert Joyce played Danny in for his second. Bay had played lots of creative football and the passing was first class and totally destroyed the opposition within the first 20 minutes.
Bay totally dominated the first half which ended with a swift move down the right and a cross from Danny Williams for Michael Tritton to score. Robert Joyce had also hit the bar with a left foot drive and Danny Williams and Joe Nelder could also have scored another couple of goals but were unlucky.
